Sometimes you feel like a nut...
Sometimes you don't.
It is late and I should be long ago in bed...trying to find the energy to post an update. Nick is hanging in there as best as can be expected right now. The days all seem to run together and I have given up on keeping all my ducks in a row. For right now I am happy with keeping some of my ducks in a row.
The decision on the lung biopsy has not been made. We have talked with so many doctors, our heads are spinning. The last couple days have been a time for processing all the information, and also for quiet and thoughtful reflection, a time to just listen to one's inner voice and see what may come. Ultimately, Nick will find his way. He knows that we love him and we will be there for him no matter what he decides. Nick's path on this journey has always been strewn with potholes, fallen trees, boulders and other obstacles that appear insurmountable. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Nickolas has managed to defy the odds and emerge victorious. (After all, his name means, "victory of the people!")
In true Nick form, even with all this crap hanging over his head, even with fast breathing and high oxygen flowing through a plastic green mask, today Nick wanted to discuss what color kitten or cat we should get! We have all been missing the Mickster and we figure a new furry edition to our lives will make us all smile and purr with contentment. Isn't that all we really want from this life...smiles, laughter, and joy? Please send your prayers for Nick, please pull in whatever Heavenly favors you have outstanding, please send your good wishes to Nick for he needs everyone pulling for him right now. With courage and tenacity we must remain steadfast in our resolve for the enemy is at the gate.

Hey Diane - Vic and I have been reading the blog everyday and we're thinking of Nick all the time. We're praying all the time for Nick and you and for his recovery. Our fellowship friends are praying for Nick too. Can't wait for you guys to be playing with that new kitten! Love - Mike and Vic
