Darrell R. Griffin Jr. was born on March 13, 1971. He was a Staff Sergeant inthe United States Army. Staff Sgt. Griffin was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Styker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. He was killed by small arms fire while patrolling in Sadr City on March 21, 2007.
He was 36 years old.

He wished we didn’t have to have wars, but since that’s the way mankind is, he felt he was contributing an important part to his country.”
